What are the different kinds of wood you use?

The wood I use for each project is carefully selected for its durability, natural beauty and suitability for the intended design and use. I work with premium hardwoods-including walnut, maple, cherry, padauk, and wenge.

Each of these offer their own distinctive grain, color, and character. This allows customers to choose a wood that fits their personal style while ensuring every piece is made to be both beautiful and built to last.

Cherry - A warm reddish-brown hardwood that deepens and darkens beautifully with age. It is one of the softer options we offer, while still being durable enough for quality heirloom pieces.

Walnut - Known for its rich chocolate-brown color, often accented with lighter or darker grain variations. Walnut is slightly harder than cherry and offers an elegant balance of durability, workability, and natural character.

Maple - A light, creamy-colored hardwood with a clean, refined appearance and occasional subtle grain pattern. Hard maple is significantly harder than walnut and cherry, making it an excellent choice for pieces that need extra resistance to everyday use.

Padauk - A bold, vibrant hardwood ranging from orange-red to deep reddish brown, often darkening over time. It is much harder than walnut, cherry, and maple, bringing exceptional durability along with a striking pop of color.

Wenge - A dramatic dark brown wood with nearly black grain streaks and a bold textured appearance. Wenge is among the hardest woods we offer - similar to or slightly harder than padauk depending on the species-making it especially durable and visually distinctive.
